"Stećak" by Gorčin Dizdar

Možda posljednji put u Evropi, usred kršćanskog ambijenta, ponovo se pojavio jedan i danas još gotovo nepoznat oblik kulture mrtvih.
To su stećci po srednjovjekovnim grobljima Bosne i Hercegovina Zašto su nastala ova čudna mjesta kulta smrti, ove pozne monumentalne nekropole? I zašto su nastale upravo ovdje, u torn predjelu i u to vrijeme? Moćne emocionale snage morale su djelovati pa da se ova iskonska plastika, što liči na rano doba čovječanstva, doživi i probudi.

Perhaps for the last time in Europe, in the midst of a Christian ambience, a still almost unknown form of culture of the dead has reappeared.
These are stećak tombstones in the medieval cemeteries of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Why did these strange places of the cult of death, this late monumental necropolis, come into being? And why did they originate right here, in the torn area and at that time? Powerful emotional forces had to work so that this primordial plastic, which resembles the early age of humanity, could be experienced and awakened.
