No Trace Promises The Path - Bojan Stojčić
„No Trace promises the Path“ is an ongoing process composed out of the many temporary interventions. It is actually a big book of poetry, which is being formed for several years on different locations and situations, that provoke reactions inside of the artist. At the beginning, the work was developed in form of Haiku poetry written in Bosnian, but today it is a lot more open, not holding on to any predetermined form, and written mostly in English language. Combining specific locations and situations together with the text that is a reaction to it, new works are developed so they go beyond the narrative and symbolic of both, location and text that is put into it. All the interventions are later photo-documented and are becoming pages of one big (still not existing) poetry book, scattered around the space and time through which I had passed.
Bojan Stojčić (b.1988) is one of the clearest voices of the recent Bosnian and Herzegovinian contemporary art. He received his Master’s degree from the Academy of Fine Arts in Sarajevo and began his artistic practice in the Ideologija creative team closely collaborating with Anur Hadžiomerspahić. Central to his expression are simple interventions in everyday life, through which the instantaneity, poetics, traces and politics of his subjects is emphasized. His work is recognized and represented in renowned art institutions as well as private collections in the US and Europe.
